Simon Woodroffe: Using Innovation to Win New Markets

Which presenter would dare to give a talk following Clayton Christensen’s presentation? Simon Woodroffe had no problem with that, as he transformed the podium into a stage, entertaining the audience by delivering a great show. No Powerpoint, no bullet points. But power and big points when sharing his personal experiences made when starting a conveyor belt Sushi restaurant with robots serving drinks.
His advise to all would-be entrepreneurs: Have passion and a vision, but don’t stop there. Be outrageous! Trust in the words of Goethe which he cited: “If you are really convinced and know where to go, the world will conspire to help you.”
Leveraging his experience as roadie, stage designer for rock concerts, and other co-operations with rock music groups, he ended the show performing a rock song.
The biggest applause at the conference was his.
